Website Maintenance

Keep the website you invested in fast, secure and getting better.

A website is never finished. Software needs updates, plugins get vulnerabilities, content goes stale and small issues pile up. Our maintenance plans handle the routine work and leave time each month to make the site better.

What usually goes wrong

Updates wait until something breaks.

Outdated core software and plugins are among the most common ways small business websites get compromised.

Nobody owns the website after launch.

Small fixes wait for weeks because the original developer moved on and the marketing team cannot touch the code.

Backups exist, in theory.

Many sites have never had a backup restored, so nobody knows whether it would work on the day it is needed.

How we approach it

Routine work on a schedule, improvements on purpose.

Every plan covers the basics: updates tested on a staging copy before they go live, regular off-site backups with restores tested so you know they work, uptime and security monitoring, and a monthly speed and health check.

On top of that, each plan includes improvement hours. Use them for new landing pages, content changes, conversion fixes or the small features your team keeps asking for. We report how the hours were used and suggest where the next ones would help most.

You get one point of contact, a shared request board and a short monthly report that says what we did, what we found and what we recommend next.

What you get

Tested updates
Core, theme, plugin and dependency updates tried on staging before they reach your live site.
Backups and restore tests
Off-site backups on a schedule that matches how often your site changes, with restores tested.
Monitoring
Uptime, SSL expiry, security scanning and error alerts, reviewed by people as well as software.
Speed and health checks
A monthly Core Web Vitals review, and fixes for anything that slips.
Improvement hours
Monthly time for content, design and development changes.
Monthly report
What changed, what we found and what we recommend, in plain language.

A good fit if

  • Your site runs on WordPress, WooCommerce, Magento, Drupal or custom PHP or JavaScript.
  • You do not have a developer in house.
  • Your site brings in leads or sales, so downtime costs money.

Probably not the right fit if

  • Your site runs on a hosted builder such as Squarespace or Wix that handles updates for you. You probably do not need a maintenance plan.

Tools we use

  • WordPress
  • WooCommerce
  • Magento 2
  • Drupal
  • Git
  • Staging environments
  • Uptime monitoring
  • Cloudflare

How the project runs

Onboarding takes about a week: we audit the site, set up backups and monitoring, and fix anything urgent before the regular schedule starts.

  1. Diagnose

    Week 1

We review your current site, analytics and competitors, and talk to whoever handles your enquiries. You receive a written diagnosis of where leads are being lost. We need about an hour of your time and access to your analytics.

  2. Architect

    Weeks 2 to 3

Sitemap, content plan and technical architecture. You receive a full site plan and a fixed quote. Design only starts once you have signed off.

  3. Design

    Weeks 3 to 5

High-fidelity design for every page type and screen size. You receive a clickable prototype, and we ask for two rounds of feedback, each within 48 hours.

  4. Build

    Weeks 5 to 9

Development, content entry and testing across devices. You follow progress on a live staging link the whole way, not only at the end.

  5. Launch and grow

    Ongoing

Go-live, monitoring and 30 days of aftercare at no extra cost. Everything we built is yours. If you want to keep improving it, we continue on a monthly plan you can pause or cancel.

Questions buyers ask

Can you maintain a site you did not build?

Yes. We begin with an audit to understand how it was built and what condition it is in, then agree a plan. If something must be fixed before it can be maintained safely, we tell you up front.

What happens if our site goes down or gets hacked?

Monitoring alerts us and we start investigating. If needed we restore from a clean backup, find the cause and close it. Response times are written into your plan.

Can we pause or cancel?

Yes. Plans run month to month, and you can pause or cancel at any time. If you leave, we hand over all access, backups and documentation.

Do you work with our hosting provider?

Usually, yes. We work with most managed hosts and cloud providers. If your hosting is holding the site back, we explain why and help you move.

Every maintenance plan starts with an audit. Ask us for one and decide afterwards.
