Mobile App Development

Mobile apps that earn a place on the home screen.

We build iOS and Android apps with React Native, so you maintain one codebase instead of two. Whether it is a first version to test demand or an app for existing customers, we scope it around the few things people will actually open it for.

What usually goes wrong

The first version tries to do everything.

Feature lists grow until the launch date slips and the budget runs out before anyone outside the team has used the app.

The app and the website feel like two different companies.

Different design, separate logins and mismatched data make customers wonder which one to trust.

Store review and device testing arrive as a surprise.

Rejections, crashes on older phones and slow start-up times are common when testing begins too late.

How we approach it

A small first release on solid foundations.

We start by agreeing the core job of the app: the two or three actions that make someone open it again. Everything else goes on a list for later. That gives you a first release you can put in front of users in weeks rather than quarters.

We build with React Native and TypeScript. Most of the code runs on both platforms, while native components are used where they matter, such as payments, notifications or the camera. The app shares its design language and, where it makes sense, the same API and accounts as your website.

Testing runs throughout on real iOS and Android devices. We prepare store listings, privacy labels and review notes, and we handle submission to the App Store and Google Play.

What you get

Product scope
A prioritised feature list and user flows for version one, including what is deliberately left out.
App design
Screens designed for both platforms, following iOS and Android conventions where they differ.
Cross-platform build
A React Native app with a typed codebase, automated builds and crash reporting.
Backend and integrations
APIs, sign-in, payments and push notifications, built new or connected to your existing systems.
Store submission
App Store and Google Play listings, privacy declarations and the review process handled for you.
Launch support
Fixes during the first 30 days, and an optional plan for updates and new OS versions.

A good fit if

  • You have early evidence of demand and need a first version to put in users' hands.
  • Your customers already use your website and ask for an app for repeat tasks.
  • You need an internal app for field staff, stock checks or bookings.

Probably not the right fit if

  • Your idea is mostly content that a fast mobile website could deliver. We will say so, because it saves you money.
  • You need a graphics-heavy game or advanced 3D work.

Tools we use

  • React Native
  • Expo
  • TypeScript
  • Node.js
  • PostgreSQL
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging
  • Stripe

How the project runs

A focused first version usually takes 10 to 16 weeks from discovery to store approval. You get a dated plan after the discovery stage.

  1. Diagnose

    Week 1

We review your current site, analytics and competitors, and talk to whoever handles your enquiries. You receive a written diagnosis of where leads are being lost. We need about an hour of your time and access to your analytics.

  2. Architect

    Weeks 2 to 3

Sitemap, content plan and technical architecture. You receive a full site plan and a fixed quote. Design only starts once you have signed off.

  3. Design

    Weeks 3 to 5

High-fidelity design for every page type and screen size. You receive a clickable prototype, and we ask for two rounds of feedback, each within 48 hours.

  4. Build

    Weeks 5 to 9

Development, content entry and testing across devices. You follow progress on a live staging link the whole way, not only at the end.

  5. Launch and grow

    Ongoing

Go-live, monitoring and 30 days of aftercare at no extra cost. Everything we built is yours. If you want to keep improving it, we continue on a monthly plan you can pause or cancel.

Questions buyers ask

Native or cross-platform: which is better?

For most business apps, React Native gives you one codebase, faster updates and lower cost, with performance users will not notice. If your app depends on heavy graphics or brand new platform features, native development can be the better choice, and we will recommend it.

Do you handle App Store and Google Play submission?

Yes. We prepare the listings, screenshots, privacy information and review notes, submit the builds and respond to reviewer questions.

Can the app use our existing website data and accounts?

Usually, yes. We connect to your existing systems through an API, or build one if needed, so customers keep one account across web and app.

What happens when Apple or Google release a new OS version?

Major releases can require small updates. We offer a maintenance plan that covers testing on new versions, dependency updates and minor fixes.

Describe the one thing your app must do well.

We will help you scope a first version that can launch, learn and grow.
